geocaching

Geocaching is a global game. Hundreds of thousands of people around the world participate every day. What kind of game? The rules are simple and the game can be mastered by basically anyone. There are hundreds of thousands of “caches” hidden all over the world. They are boxes filled with small notes and knick-knacks.

The game is initiated by registering on the game\’s web portal. A cache map allows you to find hidden locations along your route. Each cache has precise geographic coordinates. Therefore, it is recommended to have a GPS-equipped device (usually a cell phone is sufficient). Use those coordinates to find the treasure and log in to the cache (write the date, time, and your username in the game in a notepad. Then mark the treasure found on the Internet.

Caches vary in size. They range from a few centimeters to a meter, and some are as long as a meter. If the cache contains something, the trinkets placed inside can be exchanged for something else. The box must be stored securely back where it was taken out.

Some are easy to find, others are really hard to find. Some things cannot be located by coordinates alone. These coordinates are calculated by the various tasks that must be done in the vicinity of those coordinates. For example, counting the number of windows in a church near a hiding place

.

Then, for example, you will not be able to find some of the hiding places unless you find the previous hiding place on a route that allows you to find a piece of the coordinates. In other words, no matter which route you choose, there is always a treasure waiting for you along the way. Sometimes you really need to use your brain, but sometimes you need to use your muscles. For example, if it is hidden on an island in the middle of the river and you have to swim to it.

I always recommend that people bring along change, a pencil and pencil sharpener in case they run out of pencils from their cache, clothes and shoes for the field, and a sense of adventure.

This is fun for the whole family. It\’s a great way to diversify your trip and keep your mind sharp.
