Every driver knows that not all roads are the same. Even the law, which divides roads into several types, remembers this. What the law does not mention, however, is the difference between the different types. Indeed, different roads have different rules and slightly different ways of driving. It is really quite simple.
First of all, of course, there are highways. They can run at top speed and are often straight. It has at least two lanes, often three or more. They are used to travel at high speed between two distant points. Quality is overwhelmingly high, and vehicles with low top speeds, such as bicycles and tractors, cannot use them.
Then there are first class roads. This is also of good quality and often runs between the two main towns. Here the speed limit is low and sometimes there is only one lane. However, these cases are rare and usually there are at least two lanes here as well. All vehicles are already allowed to drive.
You can stop here. Why are not all roads first class? Why is it necessary to make such a distinction when drivers will only benefit if the road surface is good? The reason, of course, is money. Like many other sectors, transportation is conspicuously underfunded. Existing budgets are often just enough to repair damaged sections or build bypasses to relieve cities.
Furthermore, different rules are needed for different types of roads. For example, a third class road usually runs between two villages and is a walking trail, so cyclists and pedestrians are more likely to encounter it. They also do not attract much attention because few people drive on them. The opposite is true for first class roads.
Of course, you may not like them. Ideally, all roads should be of good quality, but this is unrealistic in the current situation. Basically, we can be satisfied with what we have. The situation could be much worse.
